Lee Pace plays Jaye's older brother Aaron, the middle Tyler sibling. Aaron is currently living at home with Tyler parents, Karen and Darrin, while he works on his PhD in Comparative Religion. Aaron tends to be the most easy-going of the Tyler siblings. While he and Jaye bicker constantly, it is evident that they share a bond. Though he assumes she is insane from the get-go, Aaron is often eager to be there whenever Jaye turns to him for help. Aaron Tyler was originally supposed to be played by actor Adam Scott, who was available for the pilot, but not the series. When he became unavailable and Lee Pace was cast, Aaron's scene in the pilot had to be reshot.
